Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) have announced demonstrations against the current government, garnering support from various political parties. PTI is scheduled to march towards Islamabad on August 14, while Qadri is yet to announce a date for what he has been calling the day of 'revolution'.
Talking to the media at a flag hoisting ceremony held in connection with Independence Day celebrations, Rasheed said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) believes in achieving political motives through democratic ways and not protests.
Qadri threats
In response to Qadri’s latest press conference where he claimed the PML-N governments in Punjab and the Centre will be ousted in August, Rasheed said these threatening statements are devoid of substance, Express News reported.
The information minister said the PAT leader was conspiring with the Chaudhrys who had supported a dictator in the past.
“Qadri is a tax evader and he will soon run away to his home in Canada,” Rasheed added.
Independence struggle
Remembering the struggle of 1947 and paying tribute to those who laid down their lives for the creation of Pakistan, Rasheed on Sunday said Muslim League members fought for Pakistan under the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and they will make Pakistan a better place under the guidance of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
"Our forefathers had taken part in the freedom struggle and we will not let those sacrifices go to waste.” said the information minister while praising PML-N party members for their struggle for democracy and overwhelming support during last year’s general elections.
Rasheed called on supporters of other political parties to learn from PML-N and not take part in destructive politics.
“This is no more the old Pakistan where the divide between the rich and the poor was very deep; today, common people enjoy similar luxuries as those from the privileged class,” he said, pointing out the metro bus projects introduced by PML-N government.

Imran and Qaudry both having good relation with west and they are trying to create middle east like situstion in Pakistan .
Both Imran and Qadri are suffering from acute psychological disorders. The sudden outbursts (extreme mood swings) of Tahir-ul-Qadri prove that he is suffering from Schizophrenia. Even the Lahore High Court had declared him mentally ill during a staged firing incidence at Qadri's residence in 1990. Imran Khan has obsession for more & more power. After controlling his party as "One-Man Show", and being worshipped his trolls, he wants to control the entire Country with his dictatorial mindset. He had a divorce because of his obsessions and has reportedly refused to recognize his daughter. Both Qadri & Imran need to be sent to some hospital for psychiatric treatment so that Pakistanis are no more disturbed.
@Adnan Siddiqi: I see, as usual, you avoid answering the question. I only asked about pmln mna and mpas because pmln think the metro bus is the best thing to happened in pakistan since sliced bread (or keema filled naans if you prefer local sayings).
They way they go on about it, I expect pmln mna and mpa to be using it everyday.
"Imran, Qadri responsible for maintaining peace during protests: Pervaiz Rasheed" AND what about the responsibilities of PML( N) government. Way your party acted on model town incident says many thing about mentality and ethics of politics.
Not a single word of this person is factually correct. Information minister has no credibility at all.
@Sabi Yeh, you travel with pride and dignity, our children don't have education, food and job. When we travel from South Punjab to Lahore and Rawalpindi our bone shattered while travelling on dirty buses and potholed roads. We don't have access to market. These projects depicts King mentality of rulers, not of a public representative.
@salman:
Why only a PML-N MNA and MPA? Why can't the MPAs of PTI in Punjab Assembly take the Metrobus? The last time I checked, the Metrobus service was not segregated to serve only one particular party. Instead of driving around in a government sanctioned chauffeur driven 1800CC car, burning precious state fuel and at the same time abusing the same government, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed should instead take the Metrobus to work.
@MK: Yes you are right education reforms are needed so that thugs and liars can't misguide gullible people like you in the name of revolution. I agree and for us metro bus is the best to travel with grace and dignity.
Tahir ul Qadri is openly asking his followers to kidnap police officers n raid their homes. Its quite clear that he had issued similar provocative statements n had been preaching violence to his follower earlier as well which resulted in model town incident.
So a strong case should registered against him n he should be put behind bar just like controversial sectarian molvis are put under house arrest during muharram etc so that they don't create mess.
Please don’t let him escape to Canada like last time.
Imran too is asking his followers for indefinite sit in . He too has already preplanned confrontation so if anything goes wrong during second week of August,god forbid there is violence or bloodshed then Imran Khan , Tahir ul Qadri,Shujat & Co would be solely responsible as they are already busy giving provocative statements .
Not only Imran and Qadri should be held responsible if someone is killed or hurt in their adventure, the parents of these kids should be held responsible too. Please don't allow your kids to join anarchists who have plans to destroy public property and kill people. Learn from Karachi parents who did not stop their kids and have lost their most precious assets.
@MK And Women Rights.
I agree. Pervez Rashid's water kit installed in every Metro Bus will make Pakistan the envy of its neighbours!
@Lahori:
some people try to equate person success and rise to wealth equivalent to countrys success?.
Rex Minor
Pakistan should be governed by the best among us, the best are the most highly educated. If you grant unlimited political rights to men without education, they will provoke disturbances, or cause them to be provoked, without fear of the consequences.
Every homeless will be given a home. Every homeless family will be given 3/5 marla residential plot for free. They would be given interest-free loans for the construction of these houses which would be returnable from 20 to 25 years. Those families, who do not have financial means to return these loans, would be handed over keys of constructed houses. Every person would be given employment or employment allowance. The youth would be helped in career counseling and planning for their jobs. The practice of making them beggars, indebted or loan defaulters would be discouraged and discontinued. Those having monthly income of less than Rs. 15,000/20,000 would pay half of the real amount on flour, rice, milk, cooking oil, sugar, and plain clothes. All taxes will be eliminated from the gas, water and electricity bills for lower middle class and they would be required to pay half of the exact amount of these utilities. Official insurance scheme would be introduced and the poor would get free medical treatment. Education up to matriculation will be free and the parents would not be able to keep their children deprived of education. The students desirous of higher education would be given opportunities to do so and their admission will be ensured as per merit. Pakistan’s total area is 200 million acres. Out of which 100 million acre is cultivable. The half of this land is under private ownership while the remaining 50 million acres would be distributed among the poor. Sectarianism, terrorism and extremism will be eliminated. Ten thousand peace training centres will be opened for training of the people. Syllabi of religious seminaries would be revised and amended. The women will be given opportunities for respectable employment in the form of domestic industrial units. They will be given complete socio-economic security by doing away with discriminatory laws. Disparity in the pay structures of all senior and junior public and private sector employees will be minimized to possible extent.@Lahori: Mr Lahore so you are alright after supporting Anarchy in our country.? Pakistan will be destabilized under the grand plan and unfortunately Imran Khan is playing in the hands of foreign handlers. Why there is too much similarity in the past situation of Iraq, Egypt and Syria and in current situation of Pakistan? The Anarchists with the foreign agenda toppled the Middle east governments on the name of Revolution and Democracy and it will be repeated here as well. We are watching the revolution in Syria , Egypt, Tunisia, Iraq and many other countries and this Revolution ( Destruction ) is now knocking on the Pakistan's doors. Do you know according to Intel Agencies of Pakistan alteast 50-100 Deaths are planned already according to this plan and Foreign Agencies will exploit this situation to start a civil war in Pakistan.
Some body really needs to wake him up. His is busy singing songs of 1947 while his failure government is going to be crushed on the same Azadi day!
Yes you are right. But Unfortunately in Backward direction of success.
