PTI chief Imran Khan had announced a million-man march to the federal capital demanding that the incumbent electoral process should be changed.
However, MQM leaders Tariq Javed, Qasim Ali and Mustafa Azizabadi - in a statement published on the party’s website - said that credible sources have informed them that Imran will withdraw his march call and that this announcement will be made soon.
Further, these senior leaders appealed to all parties to take steps with caution, keeping in view the critical situation of the country.
This statement was issued by the leaders after offering the Eid prayers.
On July 29, Imran ruled out negotiations with the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz after acknowledging that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had accepted his party’s demands, saying the offer had come too late.
“Now we’ll meet on August 14,” he emphatically said, while speaking exclusively with Express News from Bannu.

@H Chaudhry: I knew it! Until you Run a scam on national level, rob from Islamabad, send Army to crush any political uprising, sue a rtd general, take & distribute unlimited loans from National banks then sell the same bank to same lenders for pennies, have own steel & sugar mills competing against locals... You are not a Recognized Political party at National level.
@Aysha M
Yes there will be plundering as usual by every one including the MQM (Don't tell me any Fabrication of his homes in London and its suburbs). These things will continue to happen until we the people of Pakistan start holding our politicians, army, judiciary, and most importantly ourselves accountable.
I see your other comments but please stop. No there is no national problem solving by mqm, this is not a party of middle class or any thing. It was a good concept and right concept but like anything else mqm is just another political party that has been part of every government in some capacity since 1988 and has failed miserably. They talk about quota system in Sind, what have they done about it? I am a graduate of NED university and was born and raised in Karachi, I never saw them do anything other than just be a part of every Government.
@Ayesha excitement worn off all it was about, to bury bad news regarding altaf and his bail so they used the biggest name in town PTI to draw attention away from mqm and altaf regarding his criminal activities for which he is on bail.
@H Chaudhry: . . . and there will be plundering as usual . . .
@mrs ahmed: There is little that I can disagree with. May I also add that when MQM claims way to Islamabad passes from 90, does not make me half as happy as if they could claim that quota system is removed after butchering Karachites for 4 decades, or Karachi has local policing because of MQM, or Karachi has a mayor, they are perhaps more focused towards contributing in national politics, they are actually doing what their forefathers did, prioritizing interest of muslims of sub-continent over their own
@Jaseem: Please refer to my response below which tell you more about me being a mindless supporter
@javed: u see them as a party of target killers and bhattakhurs. I see them as a middle class, progressive, moderate, secular party, representatives with no fake degrees, no dynastic politics, altruistic leader, unequivocal stance on talibans, condemning oppression of Ahmedis, shias and non muslim minorities. The only party producing shadow budget, landform & de-weaponization bills, and with unparallel organization, and so much more, will get back to you, once I respond to the others blinded by prejudice
@mtlspiderz: Allegations such as May 12 and Zahra Apa's murder, hackneyed and emptied of meaning, should not be dignified with a response
@SpeckD3Z: Shutter downs, as the last resort, when it goes beyond limit, life of a Karachite is considered dispensable and becomes imperative to value human life more than economic activity
@Noman: Could you please not call me Mr., if nothing else, in the spirit of Eid. Yes completely in the national interest, giving a jab even to the coalition partner when needed, all in the national interest.

IK has acquired a sickness called power hunger which he will never ever get. There will be nothing on 14th, there will no mid term and there will no new election other than the planned ones on 18th. If anything, no one will get government.
Nothing will happen, Imrna Khan only need face savings which will be given. Rest those who made PTI have cleared not to destabilize present system till the end of zarb-e-Azb operation. IK will issue some more harsh statements and at the end will come have jalsa and go back to his normal routine. All politicians think Pakistani public is fool and they are right as many fools think IK and Tahir ul Qadri will bring inqulab with all lootas rejected by public....!
@ Ch. Allah Daad: You nailed it.
It looks that there will be a go home as we haven't seen any response from Army. Right now army is fully supporting democracy. So Mr. IK any other time to fulfill your dream of becoming PM...
Ofcourse it is a sensitive time. MQM is really worried about Altoff's bail and ongoing cases in UK at the moment. Please try later :p
@Aysha M: Congrats u get the mindless supporter award!
for your info ET IK two day ago made it clear that 14 aug march will happen as per schedule & PTI Yesterday released Display Picture for 14 august Azadi March.
Close ur eye and keep enjoys the corrupt system Mr MQM. Time is soon 15 days left ..
Desperate, jittery and genuinely worried for the first time in Pakistan's history, status quo parties (MQM, PPP, PMLN) have predictably united against PTI. They should, when the Tsunami comes, it comes for all, not one.
well done imran u r real hero of Pakistan u r bold on ur stand and not like all other part yes that's the reason thay all afraid of u Pakista n need that spert
Considering the rifts between PTI and MQM, The tone of PTI and other factors it seems highly unlikely that such will be the case, despite the prevailing situation, A call off now will be a hammer blow to Imran Khans Politics, so i believe let PTI leadership decide, while MQM should concentrate more on their eid collections from Karachi (no offence to MQM supporters)
@Adnan Siddiqui: if there's a mid term election, which in itself will be a blow to investor confidence, you will still get PPP from Sindh a d PMLn from punjab and nationalist parties from balochistan. How is that better than what we have now?
Such non-sense marches are employment measures for people with fewer and fewer gray cells!
Enemies of Islam n Pakistan want to create situation like Egypt, Syria, Libya, Iraq n Afghanistan here in our country. I would request Pakistani politicians n citizines of Pakistan to please keep themselves at distance from such long marches. Otherwise we as a nation will repent for ever. Pakistan zindabad!
@Aysha M The problem with us all that we tend to forget the past. Your MQM who places interest of nation above all, killed innocent 50 people on May 12, 2007 and woudn't allow Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to leave the Karachi airport. Then murder appa Zahara Shahid Hussain of PTI was also in the national interest And millions of pounds that Mr. Altaf was keeping at his house was definately to keep the interest of our nation above all...I really dont think so!!
@AyshaM i m sure u must be referring to all those successful shutter down strikes which is MQM's modus operandi
@Aysha M: sure interests of nation above all , what about interests of its die hard core supporters and voters, quota system still on jobs and admissions no local govt , no transport reforms , no locally recruited policing , no city govt with directly elected mayor what about long forgotten ex pakistanis in the camps of bungladesh what about least developement funds for urban sind , least grant to KU , no university for hyderabad , the city which equally loyal to MQM past 30 years , i would say more than karachi , hardly any votes to PTI , where karachi mummy daddys very foolishly voted for PTI. the list goes on , so many karachiites extra judicially killed , still waiting to know about fahad , the groom arrested from his wedding .I am ardent MQM supporter but these things do come to my mind , more frequently than ever before MQM must pay serious attention these core issues we feel this is the only party who address and has the ability to solve.
Azadi march or election seats adjustment by PTI .
False news! :)
They situation is worst in Sindh, KPK outclassed sindh in all departments. Still ppl wants ppp to rule. No one an get rid of two party systems by following this authoritative democratic system..
@Aysha M: Saving Nawaz Gov. just like MQM saved Zardari Gov. for 5 years, in the name of 'National Interest'. Mr. Proud Aysha M
@Ch. Allah Daad: Here you Go Again! @Ishtiaq: What? You haven't seen the crowd? @silverG: What democracy? It's Mini Martial Law! @Aysha M: You're comments getting better now! @Adnan Siddiqui: Who's side are you on, bro?
@Aysha M: Nice joke aysha...party of target killers and bhattakhurs
@silverG: No, not in this way .
They are given a designated spot and do not disrupt the citizens .
He should be allowed to do the march in Ayub wildlife park after getting due permission.
But PTI should not hold Islamabad hostage with thier petulant demands
When did PTI appoint MQM as it's spokes person?
So proud to be an MQM supporter, a party that always places interest of the nation above all else
Keeping in view the situation of country, we cannot afford another PMLN/PPP/MQM govt. Azadi March is inevitable
In democracy, opposition has the right to protest.
PTI's agenda is not appealing to ordinary Pakistanis, Khan doing all this just for 4 seats and than mid term election under same corrupt electoral system .. ? what change will it bring ..?
Is Asad Umar's latest tweet related to this U Turn by Khan? Or is he leaving PTI?
MQM know Imran Khan more than any one else. Only Imran Khan can compete MQM's expertise in field of call offs, boycotts, back offs and U turns.
As we knew pti has no own legs and army has shown no interests likelihood be-match abandoned and there it is. Go home.
Is this U-turn with some face saving or like always-one sided.
Not at all!
Pathetic journalism continues. Imran says march will proceed; some clerk in MQM says no it will not. Who should we believe? Imran, of course.
Once the new government is in place, one of the first priorities should be to hold the media responsible for all the lies they spew just to fill a page.

another propaganda spread by mqm and even yesterday ik made it clear that "Now we’ll meet on August 14" & PTI 14th august long march is on schedule. MQM needs ministers that why they spread this stupid rumor
Imran Khan, being worshipped by his trolls, is a mixture so self-extremes. His stance has always been swinging between extremes. He had offered a Rep Office in Pakistan to Taliban. He has vehemently opposed Military Operation in North Waziristan but on Eid day was enjoying lamb roasts in exclusive lunch at the heavily-guarded tent while the IDPs were not allowed to come in. It reminded us of famine in Thar when the Sindh CM Qaim Ali Shah while visiting the famine-hit people was enjoying sumptuous meal at the relief camp.
