PESHAWAR: A DSP was injured when unidentified armed men targeted a police convoy in Matni, nearly 10 kilometers from Peshawar, Express News reported on Wednesday.

The convoy was travelling on Frontier Road when it was attacked by men in two cars and on a motorbike, who were reportedly waiting to ambush the officers.

Three DSPs and other policemen were in the convoy when it was attacked. The injured, identified as DSP Abidur Rahman, is being taken to Lady Reading Hospital for medical treatment.

The other officers who were not injured in the attack have started searching the area for the suspects.

A large contingent of police is en-route and the political administration has also called khasadar officials to the scene.

Why didn't they retaliate if they were armed?

Could ET report on the type and condition of the injury? It looks like the injury inflicted in the "Fleshy Part of the Thigh" of Sopranos.
