Several relatives of a man who was killed on Monday staged a protest demonstration at Satiana Road on Tuesday.
They demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits. The protestors blocked traffic and impeded the movement of commuters by placing the body of the victim on the road.Nauman Ali, one of the demonstrators, said that Muhammad Iqbal, a resident of Chak 225-RB, had a dispute with members of the Sahi family over water rights for two months. Ali said that some men from the Sahi family had shot Iqbal dead in Saddar on Monday. The situation was brought under control by a police team from Saddar. Police assured the protestors that the suspects would be brought to book promptly. The protest was then called off. Police sent the body to a mortuary for autopsy. The Saddar SHO said police would resume investigations after the post-mortem examination results had been completed. He said any person they found guilty would be arrested.
