Israel air strikes kill 7 in Gaza, death toll reaches 583
The deaths hike the total Palestinian toll to 583 since the Israeli military launched Operation Protective Edge on July 8 in a bid to stamp out rocket fire from Gaza.
Qudra said a strike on Deir el-Balah in central Gaza killed five family members, four of them women.
Another person was killed in a strike in nearby Nusseirat, and one more died in the southern city of Khan Yunis.
Many of those killed in the relentless Israeli campaign of shelling and airstrikes in the Gaza Strip have been women and children, medics say. On the Israeli side, 27 soldiers and two civilians have been killed.
World powers have urged Hamas to accept an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire and stop raining rockets into Israel from the Gaza Strip, demands it has so far resisted.

The last time I saw this headline in ET it had "Pakistan" in place of "Israel", and "Waziristan" in place of "Gaza".
Gazans are fighting for freedom from blockade and living in inhuman conditions for decades.

Which country accepts ISIS ? God dammit this analogy of ISIS or Talibans with Palestinian fighters makes no sense. Palestine conflict is on UN table and every country in the world believes in it. Now tell me how many muslim countries recognize ISIS / Taliban cause in the region let alone non muslim countries. This conflict will stay on Pakistan front page as long as bombings/rockets are being fired -- but your hard pressed to find an article on Syria, Iraq or any other Muslim/Muslim ongoing violence which has resulted in far more casualties and displaced people. Further - coverage will focus on Palestinian casualties and rarely mention Hamas rockets targeting civilians or Hamas policy of not recognizing Israels right too exist. To top it off once the conflict finally falls off the front page your "Palestinian brothers" won't receive any financial aid or even second thought from the so called concerned Pakistani's. Just more anecdotal evidence that your anti Jew more than pro Palestinian.

I am weeping with grief for our brothers and sisters in Gaza. The silence of the muslim elite to outrageous crime makes me sick to my bones. How blind are we to the pain and suffering. We should have a international day of action from Morocco to Indonesia.. All businesses should close to show solidarity and everyone should protest in the streets. Only then will our weak elites sit up and feel the anger of the people and only then will we fight for our Palestinian brothers.
I hope Malala Yusofzai steps up to broker peace.
Israel has right to defend
@Rana Ajeet: Because occupation forces (in uniforms and civilians) are legitimate targets of the freedom fighters. Palestinian struggle will continue till freedom, Inshallah.
@Ahmed: Hamas will not accept any ceasefire based on humiliation. There have been many ceasefires in the past with Israel never following the terms. In the last ceasefire, Israel was supposed to lift its naval blockade, which it didn't. Gaza is besieged from 3 sides by Israel and the other by Egypt (partner in crime with Israel). Gaza is the biggest prison on the earth. Gazans cannot travel to the outside world like the rest of us. It has no airport and its sea access is blocked by Israel. Even Gaza children playing football on the beach are not safe from Israeli firepower (thanks to USA). Even otherwise, as an occupied power, Israel is a legitimate target of the freedom fighters under the international laws and norms.

I am an outsider so I don't know. My question is why can't Hamas accept the "peace deal" and end this misery for Palestinians?
Everyone knows Israel is all mighty and powerful and Hamas realistically cannot fight Israel other than their rockets attacks which only end up killing more Palestinians in retaliation by the Israelis! This strategy by Hamas clearly is not working.
Not to mention the start of the conflict was 3 Israelis kidnapped and burnt by the Palestinian side. But then again I don't know much and don't have a solid opinion on this, hence the question.
Salahuddin (saladin) ummah badly needs of you in this crucial time.
I wonder if the (so called) Muslim leaders will ever be up from their sleep. Shame on all Muslim leaders and specially on the Arab world leaders.
