Building ties: Fatemi heads to Washington

Fatemi will also participate in a UN Security Council debate in New York.

ISLAMABAD: The Special Assistant to the PM on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi will be in the United States on an official visit from July 21 to 28. He will hold meetings with the senior officials in the State Department, Defence Department and the White House to exchange views on bilateral relations. Pakistan Embassy has also scheduled his meetings with prominent Senators and Congressmen, who belong to Foreign Affairs Committees of the two Houses, with a view to strengthening bilateral cooperation in foreign policy arena, said a statement of the Foreign Office on Monday. Fatemi will also participate in a UN Security Council debate in New York, on July 28, on United Nations Peacekeeping. Pakistan has great interest in the subject, as one of the largest troop contributing countries.
