Burglary: Robbers strike two places

A man was beaten and injured for resisting a robbery and an expat family was deprived of currency in the Airport area of Rawalpindi during the last 24 hours.


Gul Sanam lodged a complaint with the local police that his son was on his way home when two armed motorcyclists intercepted him on Abdul Qadeer Khan Road and tried to snatch cash and a mobile phone from him. They opened fire at him and fled when he offered resistance.


Meanwhile, an expat family was deprived of foreign currency at airport on Sunday.  The family was about to leave from the parking area when it found some currency and jewellery worth Rs80,000 were missing from their luggage.


Sajid Mehmood, a resident of Jhelum, who was visiting the airport to pick up the family, informed the airport staff. However, the currency and valuables could not be recovered.
