MANSEHRA:

A teenage girl was shot dead in a village in Lasan Nawab Sahib, said the police on Monday.

The victim’s father has described the death an accident. According to the police, Muhammad Anwar, a resident of Jhokan village, said his son Amanat Ali was unloading his gun when it went off accidentally, hitting Anwar’s 16-year-old daughter Moina Bibi.

She died instantly, said Anwar. People of the village have contested the father’s version and have demanded an investigation as they believe Moina Bibi’s death was an honour killing. The police filed a case under manslaughter (Katal-e-Khataa) and have started investigating.
