3,800 students take SSUET entry test

University received a record 4,444 admission forms this year, only 3,876 candidates found eligible for the entry test.

KARACHI:
Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology held its entry test on Sunday for admission to its Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering and Computer Science programmes.

Interviews will start from Monday, Nov 8, and continue till Nov 12. The admissions committee will determine merit on the basis of academic records, performance in the admissions test and interview. The minimum requirement for admission is a certificate for the Intermediate in Science or the equalent with 60 per cent aggregate marks for Engineering and 55 per cent for Computer Science.

This year the university received a record 4,444 admission forms but after scrutiny only 3,876 candidates were found eligible for the entry test for 1,200 available seats.


SSUET VC Prof. Dr Saiyid Nazir Ahmed monitored the process and frequently checked security and transparency. There was a huge crowd of candidates accompanied by their parents and guardians, and candidates were excited to appear in the entry test which started at 10 am and continued for two hours.

Registrar Shah Mahmood H Syed said that after the test and interviews, the first merit list for successful candidates will be displayed on the notice boards and SSUET website www.ssuet.edu.pk on Dec 1. Offer letters would be sent via a courier service. press release
