A Gakhar Mandi police spokesman told newsmen that Sabina Kausar, 30, was married to Ahmad Jutt, who died in a shootout with police four years ago.
He said she had three children.
The spokesman said on Saturday, the woman went to visit her in-laws to collect clothes for her children. He said she argued with her sister-in-law Fakhra and her nephew Osama Tariq. He said they beat Kausar until she fainted and locked her in a store room.
The spokesman said they received a missing person complaint from one of her relatives on Sunday. He said a police team visited the house where she was last seen and found her in the store. He said the woman was very ill. She was taken to a hospital for treatment. The spokesman said the woman died at the hospital.
He said her post-mortem report confirmed that she had died from injuries to her internal organs. The spokesman said cases against Fakhra and Tariq had been registered. He said the police had not made any arrests in the case so far.
