KARACHI: Twenty-four-year-old Naila, wife of Iqbal and 32-year-old Azeem Khan were killed at Christian Para, Moinabad, within the limits of the Sharafi Goth police station. Police officials claimed to have arrested an accused, Musawir Khan, and have also seized the pistol used in the murders. SHO Irfan Meo, while quoting the initial investigation, said that the accused is the brother of the deceased Naila, who killed his sister and her alleged paramour in the name of honour. The officer said that Naila was forced to marry Iqbal even though she wanted to marry Azeem. He added that the incident took place when Azeem came to visit Naila but her brother shot his sister and the man she was involved with, both of whom died on the spot. Separately, a young man was shot dead near Islam Chowk in Orangi Town within the limits of the Pakistan Bazaar police station. SHO Nasir Mehmood said that the deceased was a drug addict and was shot and killed apparently by his comrades over drugs. His body was moved to the Edhi morgue for identification purposes after medico-legal formalities were completed at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
