Pakistan Awami Tehreeek chief Tahirul Qadri said on Thursday that revolution and reform are parallel to each other and though they move together, they do not have a meeting point.
Speaking to Express News at his residence, Qadri said Imran Khan’s demand for mid-term elections will not change the exploitative system PAT is fighting against.
“Mid-term elections will further sustain the status quo. It will not change the elitist political system, network of corruption, culture of police and courts and all those factors that make the whole process of elections unfair,” he said.
“Our philosophy of revolution is to replace the rotting system through peaceful struggle,” he said.
Qadri insisted that his expectations were very different from those of Imran Khan.
He warned that the corrupt rulers would become political martyrs if Imran succeeds in toppling the government and holding mid-term elections.

@Anwar: What strong political force? He is a guy who ran away to claim asylum in Canada where he swore oath of loyalty to British Queen and promised to respect democratic system and constitution. He has no character to challenge democracy in Pakistan. Why does he fly on first class when he says he paid only $300 tax in Pakistan? People in Pakistan see him for the phoney he is. No one wants to see Arab Spring revolution so Pakistan can become another Syria, Libya, Iraq or Egypt. Please do your revolution in Canada - but wait they would arrest him if he tried to create public nuisance there and Tahirul Qadri swore to obey Queen!

"Philosophy" of revolution is missing. Where is it? Does Qadri knows the meaning of revolution?
@ishtiaq: janab , what you have understood from the interview of Dr. Qadri may please be explained to meat least as to what is his plan to bring revolution, the date of revolution ? He talks non sense without any rationale /logic.
Qadri Sahib your "peaceful struggle" has already cost many lives for which you must bear responsibility as you goaded your followers to resist law-enforcers as they were removing barriers from Minhaj Secretariat. And, you hardly have any philosophy of revolution.
Qadri Sahib says: "“Our philosophy of revolution is to replace the rotting system through peaceful struggle,”" fine but, Sir, you have never given a blueprint of the philosophy of the revolution that you wish to bring about. Please give us in some detail the characteristics of the new system you would like to establish. Besides, tell who would run the "system" and how and what new institutions you have in mind. Plus a revolution entails as a prerequisite fundamental change of basic values of a society. What values do you wish to bring about and how? One other thing, revolutions, such as the French, British, Russian, and American, all have seen bloodshed. So what new techniques of revolution have you invented that can cause to bring about drastic changes without violence? Please enlighten.
@Bait if you don't now what is his solution that watch his interviews and try to understand what is his plan for revolution, criticize others without knowing anything is not good.
Agree 100% with TuQ...re election under the same corrupt election commission with same corrupt mna's running for election then we are going to get another corrupt govt..we need a overhaul...clear the system of corrupt ppl and practices...free the institutions from political interference and make them strong and not servants of the politicians..only then we can hope for a true democracy through elections.
What is his solution? An Arab Spring like revolution? So that we can wind up like Egypt or Libya or Syria? What is this new system he hopes to bring? A revolution will only lead to anarchy, shortly followed by military rule.
Qadri is right, Mid term election in this system will not bring any change and same corrupt people will be elected again, first revolution and than election in new system where only good people can contest elections.

PAT will become a strong political force and will become an alternative to PTI. The establishment now support PAT, not PTI. PTI is hoping that by creating nuisance, Musharraf will be let go. But elements within establishment wouldn't want that.
