BAHAWALPUR:

Local authorities sealed five warehouses in Rahim Yar Khan on Wednesday in an operation against hoarders.

A large amount of potatoes, apples and bananas were stored there.

Earlier, Rahim Yar Khan District Coordination Officer Nabeel Javed had directed assistant commissioners (ACs) to take action against hoarders, who were trying to create an artificial shortage of basic food items.

AC Dr Javed Ahmad, special magistrates Imran Haider and Zubair Abbasi raided the Pakistan Cold Storage and Madina Cold Storage. They found five godowns filled with potatoes, apples and bananas there. The officials sealed the storage facilities and started legal proceedings against their owners.
