Leading writers, scholars, poets, and columnists have strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli bombings of the Gaza strip. They have urged the global community to boycott Israel.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the intellectuals also criticised the role of the United Nations and the leaders of Muslim countries over their inability to help stop the hostilities. They blamed them for empty sloganeering.
The scholars appealed to the international community to step forward and support the helpless Palestinians who have been persecuted throughout history.
The poets, authors and intellectuals include Tauseef Tabassum, Aftab Iqbal Shamim, Ehsan Akbar, Rasheed Ahmed, Jalil Aali, Yousuf Hassan, Mazharul Islam, Dr Najiba Arif, Nilofar Iqbal, Sarwat Mohiuddin, Ayesha Malik, Parveen Tahir, Farrukh Yar Khan, Naseer Ahmed Nasir, Ali Muhammad Farshi and Hameed Shahid.
Furthermore, Anwar Fitrat, Atif Aleem, Rafiq Sandeelvi, Qasim Yaqoob, Aftab Zia, Saeed Ahmed, Irshad Mairaj, Rafaqat Razi, Abid Sial, Maqsood Jafri, Syed Arif, Hasan Abbas Raza, Aaksi Mufti, Wafa Chisti, Sheeda Chisti, Mazhar Masood, Anjum Khaleeq, Khurram Khaleeq and others also condemned the Israeli aggression.
