Entrapped: Woman, daughter abducted, gang-raped

MULTAN: A woman and her daughter who had come from Lahore to get amulets (taweez) from a pir here were abducted and gang-raped on Monday.

Nabila and her 20-year-old daughter Iqra met a woman, Razia, in Multan, who promised to take them to the pir. Razia introduced them to two men, saying they would take them to the pir. However, the suspects took them to a house in Nishtar Colony, where they were allegedly raped by five men.

Nabila told police that she had fainted after her daughter was gang-raped in front of her. When she regained her senses she found herself on a road near Hussain Agahi Square. She was taken to Nishtar Hospital by some citizens. She said her daughter was till missing.

A medical examination has confirmed Nabila was gang raped.

Daulat Gate SHO Yaseen Luk told The Express Tribune that a case had been registered against five suspects. “We have constituted police teams to free the victim’s daughter and arrest the accused,” he said.
