In a formal invitation, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to send its team to the lucrative Champions League T20 (CLT20) Tournament in September.
Although the event is likely to be played in India, the organisers are also considering the option of hosting it in the UAE, where the initial matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) were also played.
Lahore Lions will be representing Pakistan in the upcoming edition of the tournament after winning the domestic T20 competition.
“PCB Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmed has received the invitation and the board will reply to it officially after consulting chairman Najam Sethi,” revealed a PCB official.
“Lahore Lions will participate in the competition as they were the winners of the domestic T20 tournament.”
In the earlier editions of the tournament, Sialkot Stallions and Faisalabad Wolves had participated in the tournament, but neither of them was able to make it to the main round, having crashed out in the qualifiers.

@Vectra:
How about learning some grammar now?
@Blunt .... I always wonder why single team from Pakistan, single team from Sri Lanka etc are put for qualifiers, while almost half of the IPL teams go to the main round directly? ... 1. IPL is the best t20 league in the world where the best talents form around the globe compete to reach the final four in IPL. By definition these for teams are likely to be the best of the best t20 league team, even the austrialian big bash doesnt compare. 2. The champions league is sponsored by BCC, all the millions $$$ of price money comes out of BCCI's pockets. 3. .....many can be added but these should suffice.
@IndianDude: What happened to famous Indian claims of 'tit for tat' etc? How great the nation is that they consider it against their ego to invite the Paksitani player in IPL, while the same players are invited to be the part in the tournament being played in India.
Great move by BCCI. Must be appreciated. I always wonder why single team from Pakistan, single team from Sri Lanka etc are put for qualifiers, while almost half of the IPL teams go to the main round directly? This tournament has become at best IPL sequel.
Where is the famous pakistani ghairat? They should reject the invitations made by small hearted hindu bania ruled BCCI and champion's trophy!
Good move by BCCI, as the pakistani lions will be turned in to sheep by any other t20 teams participating in champions league. Besides, the $$ is peanuts for pakistan, they want Lion's share of the pie of the revenue without offering any tangible value to the revenue to be generated from their participation, but what do you expect from a nations that survives on billions$ 'gift' from the brotherly country and free khajoors.
@jewish hitler:
So if you do not get invited, you have a problem. If you get invited you complain about your share of the revenue. If you think this is peanuts and you can get more elsewhere, you should refuse the invitation.
@Abdul: @Baba Ji: In 2012, Sialkot Stallions and Faisalabad Wolves were invited and did participate but crashed out in early stages. Did you READ the whole news item?
You can be sure that this is not going to take place.
Champions League T20 is a bcci tournament with 10% share to s.africa and aus. pcb, slc , nzc send teams for 200,000$(absolute peanuts) if they qualify by beating another ipl team(MI).
