QUETTA: A convoy of Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) was hit by a roadside Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the desolate Peshuk area of the restive Kech district on Friday. A vehicle of FWO was partially damaged. However, no one was hurt. The area is notorious for the activities of Baloch dissidents, but no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. “A contingent of Balochistan Frontier Corps was escorting the FWO vehicles when a bomb went off. The attackers had used a remote controlled IED,” an FC official said. Security forces have launched an operation in the area.
