SP involved in Model Town incident gave incorrect figures: JIT
In his statement, the SP had claimed that he had only fired 10-15 bullets. However, the JIT contradicted this statement with footage showing that Sherazi had fired about 200 shots.
On June 17, clashes between the supporters of Dr Tahirul Qadri's Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and the police in Lahore left at least 14 people – including two women – dead and dozens of others injured.
The JIT holding an inquiry into the Model Town incident on Thursday had detained nine policemen for their alleged role in the deaths of the PAT workers.
