Registration process: 1.6m Afghans receive PoR cards

NADRA along with UN Refugee Agency delivers new Proof of Registration cards to 1.6 million registered Afghan refugees.

ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) along with the UN Refugee Agency delivered new Proof of Registration (PoR) cards to 1.6 million registered Afghan refugees. According to a communiqué of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Pakistan on Thursday, over 668,000 Afghan refugees have received PoR cards through 34 distribution centres and mobile registration vans. In the second phase, NADRA will register some 150,000 children born to registered parents in the past five years. Moreover, 182,000 children who have reached the age of five years since the last exercise and who are already registered with their parents will now receive individual PoR cards.
