KARACHI: Famed and celebrated religious scholar Moulana Koukab Noorani Okarvi has said that Islam gives woman her rightful status in society. It has let it be known that it is no matter of shame or embarrassment to be a woman. In fact our religion does not only put in safeguards for the protection and sanctity of womenfolk, but also accords them dignity, honour and a share in inheritance. Speaking during a programme at Express News on Wednesday, he said that Islam holds women in high esteem at every platform. He was of the view that it’s Islam which has offered women their true place in society. The teachings of Islam not only give respect to women but also support them in their every endeavour. Noorani was talking about the ‘place of women in society’ in connection with the death anniversary of Hazrat Khadija (RA). He went on to say that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has granted respect and honour to women more than anyone.
