Money matters: Landlord ‘kills’ tenant’s father

The police spokesman said that the police received a complaint about the incident and raided the landlord’s farmhouse.

A landlord on Wednesday allegedly beat the father of a tenant to death.


A Langrana police spokesman said that Anwar Ali, a resident of Chak 240 Malaka, was working on Muhammad Ismail’s farmland.

He said Ali had borrowed Rs150,000 from the landlord and had not paid the money back to him.

He said when he was asked to return the money, he left the village and found work at another farm in another village.

He said that Ismail then abducted Ali’s father, Yousuf Ali, 70, and beat him at his farmhouse.

He said the man died due to his injuries and his body was buried at the farm.

The police spokesman said that the police received a complaint about the incident and raided the landlord’s farmhouse.

He said the body was recovered and handed over to his family for burial.

The spokeman said that the landlord had managed to flee and the police were searching for him.
