Natural resources: K-P approves Rs7.5b for energy development
Decision taken and approved by high level meeting held under chairmanship of K-P’s Chief Secretary Amjad Ali khan.
PESHAWAR:
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has approved Rs7.5 billion investment for the development of oil and gas natural resources in the province. The decision was taken and approved by a high level meeting held under the chairmanship of K-P’s Chief Secretary Amjad Ali khan.
During the meeting it was decided that at primary stage, Rs7.5 billion investment will be made in order to utilise the natural resources of oil and gas located in two districts, Karak and Kohat.
The investment will be made through K-P Oil and Gas Company Limited (KPOGCL). As a result, provincial revenue will increase while employment opportunities will also be generated.
During the meeting, Energy and Power Secretary Sahibzada Saeed Ahmed termed his decision as a historical move towards the development of economics activities in the province.
The chief secretary expressed that the investment in oil and gas sector is in fact a step towards the development of the province.
