The move comes a few days after country's prestigious education institution Aitchison College announced the end of its long standing tradition of providing admissions to relatives of VVIPs through a 'quota' system.
The 'quota' system gives extra powers to the vice chancellors of the universities.
The provincial government has also asked the education department to abolish the 'quota' system in Punjab colleges as well.

can u plzzz tell me the names of those universities
When will the above process happen on Sindh
@ A J KHAN..... exactly same thing is happening in Sindh also
The worst is happening in Balochistan. Arsalan Iftikhar got admission in Medical college on corrupt Judges Quota. But he is not the only one. Every year hundreds of third divisioners get admission in Bolan Mediacl College & Universities on ethnicity. This shameful practice is getting strengthened in so called democratic dispensation. Further Junior Officers on ethnicity basis are put on senior officers in same department
Quota system must be done away with throughout Pakistan. Well done Lahore! Let us ensure that it is enforced else where in Punjab and in the country as well.
Good move, hope Sindh follows too.
That would be great !
Well done Punjab. I would like to see whether this is replicated in another provinces.
Awesome...
These baby steps will lead to a solid educational infrastructure. The best part of PML-N's Punjab Ministry is that they do perform when they make a promise and I believe that among their previous tenure's, this one has been the best so far.
Thank you and keep up the good work !!!!
