Oh deer!: Poachers held for hunting rare deer

The Wildlife Department arrested two poachers for illegally hunting rare Chinkara deer in the Cholistan area

BAHAWALPUR: The Wildlife Department arrested two poachers for illegally hunting rare Chinkara deer in the Cholistan area on Monday night. A team of the Wildlife Department, led by Special Squad Incharge Tahir Ameen, raided a camp in Misri Shah, Cholistan area, and arrested Sarwar and Muhammad Shabbir. The team recovered three slaughtered Chinkara deer, a .12 bore gun and a motorcycle from them. The Wildlife Department has handed over the criminals to the police. A case has been registered against them. Police said that the men had confessed to their crimes. They told police that their ring leader Kala Khan had fled the scene when he saw the Wildlife Department team approaching the camp.
