Economic turnaround: Businessmen asked to play leading role

The president underlined the vital role of business community in economic development of the country.

ISLAMABAD:

President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday urged the business community to come forward and play a leading role in the on-going economic turnaround and fully exploit the true potential of the country.

In a meeting with a delegation of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, the president underlined the vital role of the business community and the private sector in economic development of the country.

He asked the business community to take benefit of various trade concessions and incentive packages being offered by the government to attract foreign and domestic investment in different sectors.

“Government’s policies and initiatives have led to the restoration of confidence of local and foreign investors,” he said. “Agreements are being signed for investment, particularly in infrastructure development and energy.”
