Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in a clarification said the focus of his meeting on Saturday with the prime minister and chief minister Punjab was on political and national matters. “How is it possible that I would discuss my personal problems while the country is stuck in a quagmire of problems?” the minister said via a statement issued on Monday.
He said the meeting was held neither to complain against any minister or interference in his ministry. He reiterated that his relations with the cabinet and parliamentary party remain ‘congenial’. “I was surprised to hear that the name of the Minister of Finance Ishaq Dar was taken time and again in this connection,” he said. “Instead of a misunderstanding, we have a relationship of respect and deference,” he added.
Nisar also categorically denied the impression that there are factions within the Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N).
