Three cops killed in firing incident in Hyderabad

Policeman, 2 civilians including woman also injured in attack, Sindh CM asks DIG Hyderabad for report on incident.

HYDERABAD:
Three policemen were killed while another was injured when unidentified armed men on a motorbike opened fire on them in Hyderabad, Express News reported early on Monday.

Two civilians including a woman were also injured in the attack.

Taking notice of the incident, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has asked DIG Hyderabad Sanaullah Abbasi for a report on the incident.

According to Express News correspondent Abdullah Sheikh, four policemen were busy with routine snap checking when unidentified assailants fired on them, killing three on the spot and injuring the fourth. All the policemen were shot in the head.

One of the deceased policemen is the cousin of MNA Syed Waseem Hussain.


According to DIG Hyderabad, this incident could be a setback of the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan.

The bodies and injured were shifted to Government Shah Bhitai Hospital.

The funeral of the deceased cops was offered in the Police Line area.

So far, 14 policemen have reportedly been killed in different incidents in Hyderabad in the past nine months. The police have not been able to arrest any suspects involved in these attacks.
