Gilani family car gets a traffic ticket

LAHORE: A traffic warden, on Friday, claimed to have given a ticket to the prime minister’s son, Musa Gilani, for driving a car with tinted glasses on Airport Road. Gilani along with his driver was pulled over by warden, Ahsan Mushtaq, who asked them for driving licenses and car’s registration. The driver, initially, denied carrying the documents but later handed over Musa Gilani’s expired driving licence. The warden issued a ticket and seized the expired license without realising that it was not a valid current licence.

Later, it was learnt, a city traffic police officer summoned Mushtar and his sector in-charge to his office to inquire about the matter.

The warden denied ticketing a vehicle of the Gilani family. When the officer saw the licence the warden was severely reprimanded.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Ahmed Mubeen told The Express Tribune that only the driver was present in the vehicle when it was ticketed. He said that Musa Gilani was not in the vehicle. He also denied having reprimanded the warden over the incident, he said. He said that the ticket had been issued over the tinted glasses.
