FAISALABAD:

Security at the Faisalabad Airport has been placed on high alert to deal with any terrorism threat, Station Manager Sultan Humayun Warraich said on Friday.

He said additional security personnel had been deployed at the airport. He also said that they were collecting data on people living in areas adjacent to the airport. “This data will help us ensure foolproof security at the airport and its surroundings areas,” Warraich said. The official said that the Chinchal Singhwala Road, which runs close to the airport, had been closed off. “The road will be patrolled by the airport security personnel,” he said. The official said the local administration had released Rs150 million to build an alternative road to link Chinchal Singhwala and Rasalaywala.
