Forbidden: Prayer leader ‘occupies’ mosque

LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday sought comments from Nishtar Colony police by July 5 on a petition seeking a case against a prayer leader for allegedly occupying a mosque. Abdur Rehman said he was prayer leader at Darul Huda Mosque and also taught children there. He said Muhammad Ibrahim only led Friday prayers at the mosque and received Rs10,000 a month in salary. He said Ibrahim had “occupied” the mosque and rejected its management’s request to vacate the mosque. He said Ibrahim had threatened the mosque management of dire consequences when it insisted that he leave.
