Unscheduled load-shedding: Record sought on ex-LESCO chief’s plea

LAHORE: A special court ordered submission of police record on Tuesday (today) on a post-arrest bail application by the former Lesco CEO who is facing charges of corruption and abuse of authority. The judge also directed former Lesco CEO Arshad Rafique and GM Operations Mehboob Ali to appear in court today. The FIA had arrested Rafique on charges of corruption and Ali for aiding the CEO. They were booked for carrying out unscheduled load shedding to allegedly facilitate industrial units. Rafique said the power supply had been suspended as the Traffic and Engineering Transport Agency wanted to shift electricity polls for widening roads.
