Crime: Couple hurt resisting robbery

The police registered a case against the robbers but no arrests had been made till the filing of this story.

KAHUTA: An elderly couple was thrashed on Monday for allegedly resisting robbers in Kahuta. Three armed robbers in a Toyota Corolla intercepted Muhammad Rashid and his wife at a bus stop in Kahuta while they were returning home from a hospital. They forced the couple into their car and took them to a deserted place where they snatched Rs18,000 cash and a mobile phone from Rashid, and jewellery from his wife and fled. They had also thrashed the couple for offering resistance. The injured couple was taken to a nearby hospital where Rashid’s wife, who was already ill, is stated to be in critical condition. The police registered a case against the robbers but no arrests had been made till the filing of this story.
