LAHORE:

Justice Ijazul Ahsan of Lahore High Court on Thursday extended a stay order against the proceedings of an election tribunal hearing Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan’s plea for recount of votes in NA-122, a constituency in Lahore.

The petition against the tribunal’s proceedings had moved by National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, who had defeated Khan in the constituency. Counsel for Khan had sought more time to file a reply to the petition. The judge conceded the request. Justice Ahsan had passed a stay against the tribunal’s proceedings in November 2013.
