Rail maintenance: Dining car facility restored in trains

Pakistan Railways has restored the dining car facility in three different trains operating between the major cities of the country. The facility has been restored on the Karachi Express running between Lahore and Karachi, the Jaffar Express from Rawalpindi to Quetta and the Akbar Express running between Lahore and Quetta, an official in the ministry told APP. He said that Pakistan Railways is carrying out special repair of 150 locomotives through Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) at a cost of Rs5005 million to improve their reliability and performance. Under this initiative, 20 locomotives have been repaired while 65 locomotives would be made functional during next two years, he added.
