Zarb-e-Azb blowback: Southern Command calls security moot

Citizens requested to intimate any terrorist activity in their vicinity.

QUETTA: The Pakistan Army and Balochistan government have evolved a strategy in the wake of likely threats and blowback of the Zarb-e-Azb operation in Waziristan. Commander Southern Command, Lt Gen Nasser Khan Janjua, IG Police Mohammad Amlish Khan, Home Secretary Akbar Hussain Durani, Commissioner Quetta Qambar Dashti, senior military and civil officials attended the joint security conference held in Headquarters Southern Command. After having reviewed likely repercussions of Operation Zarb-e-Azb in Balochistan, various decisions were taken to bolster the security of citizens. They agreed to establish joint control rooms at provincial and district levels with the help of civil administration and law enforcement agencies. Citizens have been requested to intimate any suspicious activity or presence of unknown persons to these control rooms. Citizens have also been requested to intimate any terrorist activity in their vicinity.
