MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government on Monday delegated powers of price control committees to all district and tehsil magistrates to check the prices of essential commodities during Ramadan. “The price control committees will continue to function and check rates in the markets on a regular basis. District and tehsil magistrates will also check the prices as price control magistrates on a daily basis,” said a notification. “Both the committee members will submit reports to the industries secretary on a weekly basis to discourage hoardings and price hikes in Ramadan,” said the order. A monitoring system has also been introduced to entertain complaints from the public against hoarders and profiteers.
