FAISALABAD: The government has set aside Rs1.15 billion for various development projects, including the construction of an expressway, in the city for 2014-15. A Faisalabad Development Authority spokesman told reporters on Monday the government had allocated Rs1 billion to build a 24-kilometre canal expressway from Gatwala Bridge to the Sahianwala (M-3) interchange. He said Rs1 million would be spent on rebuilding the Jhal Khanuana Chowk. Rs 50 million would be spent on the construction of various link roads in the city, he said. “These projects will be completed with the collaboration of the Punjab government and the Faisalabad city district government under a cost sharing formula,” he said.
