Criminal act: University lecturer gang-raped

PESHAWAR: A lecturer of a private university was allegedly gang-raped by two acquaintances in Peshawar. According to the police, the accused Abdul Khalil and Sifat Khan, residents of Warsak Road, picked up Shaheen* from Hayatabad Phase-III in their car and raped her on the way. The accused then left her where they had picked her up. “The woman was taken from Hayatabad and then thrown back,” said an official at the Hayatabad police station. “We have registered an FIR in the case and an investigation is under way, but the accused fled after the incident,” he added. *Name changed to protect identity
