KARACHI: Former Pakistan chief selector Abdul Qadir has urged the selection committee to call up fit-again  Kamran Akmal and Rana Navedul Hasan for the remainder of the UAE tour in order to improve Pakistan’s performance. “I’m surprised why the selectors didn’t call up Akmal and Naved for the ODI series after their presence was felt and the duo is available,” Qadir told The Express Tribune.

“Both players have the potential to win matches individually and Pakistan need such players.”

Qadir also questioned the team’s tactics of under-utilising off-spinner Saeed Ajmal. “Ajmal is not being used properly as being a regular bowler he has only bowled his full quota once in the series while part-time spinners are being used more than him. I don’t understand that.”
