The prime minister was addressing a ceremony in Islamabad for his Laptop Scheme.
“There are certain elements working against the country and our younger generation who aspire to change things for Pakistan,” he said, adding that the nation voted for Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) in last year’s election because of its our poll agenda.
He lashed out at opposition parties for staging dharnas and protests, and planning to disrupt the system.

The premier told the students and others present at the gathering that his government has been working on the election promises from the very first day and has not deviated from the mission even an inch.
“I campaigned for the youth before election and we have introduced schemes for them such as loan disbursement, fee reimbursement and laptop allocation,” he said, highlighting that his government was the only one which trusted the young generation with nation’s wealth, despite strong criticism.
“We have already received the first instalment from the loan recipients,” he boasted, to which the crowd cheered.
He then added that: “Our youth has skills, education and passion but what they don't have is enough resources and funds; we have given them the opportunity to prove themselves and take the country forward.”
According to the data provided by the prime minister during the event, around 12,000 people have been given loan so far. He said his government will make sure more deserving people are brought under the scheme and that he trusts the youth to return every penny back to the state.
Commenting on the neutrality of his youth-related programs, PM Nawaz said political affiliations have no influence on who benefits from these schemes. “I’m the prime minister of everyone; those who voted for me and those who didn’t,” he said.
He questioned his rivals whether the steps his government has taken up till now are worth praising or not. “Are we not working in the right direction? Are these schemes not good initiatives?” he asked, adding that he plans to overcome all the major problems faced by Pakistan in the next three years.
“We will bridge the demand-and-supply gap in our energy sector, we will ensure our economy keeps progressing, we will develop Gwadar port in accordance with the international standards, we will build a road network from north to south, we will end lawlessness,” the premier said, listing his plans for the country.
Laptop scheme
The ceremony started with the Punjab police giving a guard of honour to all the students gathered inside the auditorium to receive their laptops. As per the scheme, around 100,000 laptops will be distributed amongst high achieving students each year.

Maryam Nawaz, while speaking during the event, said the government has made sure the scheme was transparent and that deserving students were awarded laptops.
Adding to this, the premier said since the government could not start the scheme in its first year in power, it will adjust last year’s laptops in next three years’ share. He further said the scheme also has a quota for students with disabilities.
With reference to his government’s fee reimbursement scheme, Nawaz said around 40,000 students have been given money, however, more students will be added to the plan.

I presume it is a common phenomenon in Pakistan for people to be living from decades in England, Canada, US etc and organizing and running political parties in Pakistan. They, on chosen moments, kindly descend from their restful abodes, flushed with luxurious comforts of the world, as saviors of poor and suffering people of Pakistan. And it is a sight to see how the masses gather to celebrate their precious appearances and bow in gratefulness for their guidance. These are the leaders who have no idea how a common man lives his life every day and what all he faces for his survival. And people have no idea from where the huge funds are available to them.
Allah bless Pakistan. Allah bless Nawaz Sharif.
Imran Khan has lost the plot by his apologetic stand on Taliban long before the elections were conducted which is the main reason for not donning the PM post. The militants have so far killed thousands of innocent people in cold blood but he has neither blamed nor condemned them for their barbarities so far. Initially, he blamed drones for killings which were stopped and the govt started talks as well but the mayhem still continued but Imran was dogmatic in continuing the talks which was seen in poor light by the people of Pakistan who wanted military operation against the militants. Dharnas and strikes may not help his cause until his party practices pragmatism and takes a firm stand against the militants responsible for death and destruction in Pakistan which may only redeem his credibility.
Break-up of Pakistan, Yougusalvia style is near. A country run by biggest thugs and criminals calling themselves sharifs where egyptian pharoahs and modis acts look like child's play.
The cowardly leftovers of Zia ul Haq era are shivering at the arrival on Mon morning. Let there not be any flight diversions again.
He and his brother SS forgets his dharnas and protest against load shedding etc during PPP govt rule....
@Karachi: Sir, I believe the ethics seems to be in depletion on the other side. First an Election fraud and now a desperate pre-emptive vengeance.
Oppusitions are for check and balance in the world over but in Pakistan for power graping.
What is it exactly that you want of the people now; they trusted you and brought you to serve again the country as the Prime man, after having been removed by the military chief that you personaly appointed. They trusted your mandate for peace and let you once again to appoint a new military chief, your pal, who instead of relaxing military hold on towns and cantonments implemented by the military rulers, instantly started a miltary campaign against the tribal people, most of whom have no political or territorial ambitions. What is it that you want of the people who have lived with the paranoia of American intrusive actions in Pakistan military defences and you have not made any advances to formulate Pakistan strategic objectives. You are the Prime Minster and the foreign minister as well as the defense minister and ofcourse the self styled head of the parliaments, forcing opposition to demonstrate for their opposition to your policies in street demonstrations. What is it exactly that you want of the people of Pakistan, Mr Prime Minister?
Rex Minor
I have been adding the pro IK/TUQ-likes vs NS-likes. The Final Score= 2319 vs 238. Do u still believe that NS had a mandate?
Instead of demanding maturity you and your brother should have resigned for killing innocent people including women. Your time seems to be short now InshAllah.
A revolution which is coming whether we will it or not. We can affect its character; we cannot alter its inevitability. “An army of the people is invincible!” One leader cannot make a revolution but by throwing a stone in the water which make waves and those waves can turn in to Tsunami.
Both corrupt and criminal families should be wiped out if not for us but for our coming generations.
You need to enhance your screengrab program, use some software for better quality next time.
Perhaps we should accept to be governed by pmln mafia. Sensible and educated individuals should stay away from Pakistani politics and let us rot in the heat. We deserve it.
@Voter: what, like gullu ethics?
One question to all who say there was no rigging. If PMLN claim they won cleanly, why don't they just agree to verification in those 4 areas. If they won cleanly, the results will back them up, and IK will be humiliated. Yet, PMLN refuse to do this. You have to wonder why?
@ Shuaib Thats very interesting Do you actually think that in UK you can have someone like Zardari as president, someone like Nawaz Shareef as PM and someone like Rana Sanaullah or Abid Sher Ali as state minister? I would love to have your reply.
@ Umar You are right, people of Pakistan are not stupid enough to vote Imran Khan. In a parallel universe, about 8 million voted for him last year, and by the look of things, many more will vote him next time; bigger crowds are attending his rallies and more people are voting him in by-elections than they did in the general elections. But all this does not matter, what really matters is that you said 'no one will vote him'.
Politics of dharnas, agitation, public rallies and abusing others can give nothing to Pakistan. There must be some ethics of politics.
I dislike IK because he never speaks truth. He always tells a lie. He has never given any evidence about the blames he made on other politicians. He is the biggest Liar in Pakistani politics.
Imran Khan and Canadian Moulvi have forgotten all ethics in the curse of power. They are continuously fooling the nation. No hope from these defeated elecments.
All defeated elements lack sportsman spirit. PTI and other oppostion parties should wait till 2018 as their next defeat is due in 2018.
PM should not worry and he should continue his work. Haters will continue expressing their hate against PM but he should continue his work with zeal and enthusiasm. Long live Pakistan. Long live Nawaz Sharif.
Nawaz Sharif should not advise the opposition because Opposition is compelled to do what is asked to them to do by their mentors (establishment).
Only hope is Nawaz Sharif. Imran Khan is the biggest disappointment who is shaking hands with defeated elements like PML(Q) and tahirul qadri.
Look at all the emotional and immature people here, all Imran Khan's followers. All of them can not accept they lost the election. It is as if Imran Khan lives in alternate universe. I mean seriously! If he had not protested day in and day out since the election, I may have stood by him protesting police brutality but I just can't take Imran Khan seriously and all his suppoters either. This is not the way to run a part. Come to the UK and you'll see that Imran Khan would be consider a massive fool for the way he acts and would get NO votes because of the way he acts.
Imran Khan is an opportunist. Present situation needs unity among Pakistani and political parties. Our army is fighting a very difficult war against terrorism. We all should leave the politics for few months and unite and encourage the army. But is is very tragic that Imran and Tahir ul Qadri are trying their best to split the nation.
The immature rigged Prime Minister Of Pakistan is asking the Opposition to behave naturedly. He and his family looks like a Circus Clown. When he goes for world tour, infront of Foreign leader he looks like Gullu Butt . Pakistanis, if you allow such criminal to be the leader of the country, the Green Passport value will go down. Now Pakistan is looked worse than Nepal or Burma. What a country it was and where it is now. We saw the Police in Model town , the army need to shoot them at sight. Comparing Shariffas with Imran , I can say, if you auction Imran's boot and on the other side, the Sharifa's including the murderer Shebaaz.... people will pick Imran's boot. These Shariffa's are wretched creature, no civilized world will tolerate what has happened in Model Town. We all pray for the innocent Civilian of Pakistan.
Fight for your right...Let People get justice.
If PTI wins, there is no rigging. If PTI loses, there is rigging. This is the dirty politics of PTI. People of Pakistan gave mandate for 5 years. Hence PTI should not disturb the government for 5 years.
If on rigging midterm will happen, I will go to Supreme court to demand cancelation of all certificates and degrees awarded since 1947 because every examination was attempted and passed by cheaters and will provide evidence and witnesses.
All puppets of Establishment are busy in efforts to destabilize democratic system in Pakistan. Imran's politics may derail democracy in Pakistan.
PTI is doing the politics of hate, lingual differences, abusing and accusing others. Imran has blamed many politicians during his political career. He has provided no evidence of any blame. I believe he is the biggest liar in Pakistani politics.
@Waqas: People of Pakistan are not stupid enough to vote manic imran and his company, it hurts...
@Buzzinga12: scared of jackals come on baby grow up
Nawaz and his brother need to explain in detail the Model Town Massacre. Do not sidetrack the issue. Answers for Model Town Massacre. Shahbaz need to resign or retire. And go take care of the family conglomerates. No place for "I was not in the loop Shahbaz."
Dear Everyone, I would like to bring this in your notice that there is no BHATA system in Punjab. compare to sindh. What ever happened was the act of self defense. Nothing happend in islamabad dharna Drama by Qadri. Why dont he refuses Canadian nationality and become Pakistani Citizen. I must praise Mohtarma Bainazir Bhutto Shaheed the true leader who accepted the challenge and came to Pakistan and died being a Pakistani. one more thing for all of your information Qadri sb is not allowed to enter in Saudia Arabia for HAJJ and Ummrah.. PLZ CHECK.
Every political party should exercise maturity. If they cant, they are most welcome to learn it from Punjab police and Gullu Butt.
Yes you are right keep you in power and you go on killing innocent persons. If your family lose someone this way how would you react.
Immature PM Speaks!!
Shameful how not a single PML-N worker has apologised for killing innocent people.
Shameful how PMLn supporters are justifying the crime of their govt and turning them into another MQM.
First put Rana sanaullah in jail. Then talk!
tahir ul Qadri is responsible for loss of lives in Lahore and that Tahir ul Qadri is being supported by Imran Khan. Both of them are enmies of Pakistan and both should be sent behind bars.
@zafar: No. Not all.
Are you scared mr shareef?
It is very tragic that opposition is busy in point scoring at the time when the country is in the state of war. It shows the immaturity and selfishness of Imran and Canadian Moulvi. They damn care about the war against terrorism. They are only concerned about their own politics. A lot of expenditure is being done on this war. This war may be disturbed due to negative politics of PTI and other parties.
Someone needs to tell His Highness that being in power does not mean that they have the right to do anything without being questioned. If there are issues which are not being dealt, people have the right to protest and the only time they will come on the street is when they are being short changed. So it is advisable that PMLN shows maturity themselves rather than lecturing people on how to behave.
Yeah maturity, the way your borther and govt showed in Punjab. Then you also behaved maturely by leaving the country after announcing the important operation against militants. Stop running this country like your princely state.
KPK is suffering due to corruption and bad governance of PTI. KPK is continuously being ignored by PTI officials. They are busy only in doing conspiracies against democracy as advised to them by their mentors.
Rona Dhona politics of PTI and other opposition parties.
IK has still not got maturity at the age of 61.
Peaceful pakistan by killing innocent people in model town.. Instead of "my party" he should say "my family"
Look who is talking... You should have acted maturely instead of going to Jeddah
Nation did not vote for you in the first place...you have grabbed the mandate of millions of people...
PML(N) will have to learn to act maturely before asking others to act maturely. PML(N)'s recent action in Lahore and subsequent statement from C M Punjab shows gross immaturity
We are with you Nawaz!
After all the malarkey, he wants people to stay inside home and watch this fool to run the country.
ACT MATURELY NAWAZ!!!!
The people ask Nawaz......to act maturely, remain in Pakistan and think about Pakistan and its people.
Yes, Quite an act of maturity of what Punjab Police did in lahore a few days back. Infact, you should amend your ways and act maturely, this family dictatorship in the name of democracy must end.
Frankly, this government (sharif family) has no credibility left. Electoral fraud on one side and slaughter of innocent people will haunt them forever. I can't see them survive too long. Only question is will they be allowed to leave the country this time ?
Laptop & loan scheme = the ultimate gimmick. 12000 loans?? What about the rest of the 200 Million people???
we dont need laptop we need protection, we need job, we need electricity, we need peace,
Seems like he is scared.
Nice one, PM... How about you act and seem to work as PM rather than a royal and running the state business like personal empire!?
Yes, just like his brother's provincial govt acyed "maturely' in Model town! It's all about damage control now. But real Maturity will be demonstrated only through Shahbaz Sharif's resignation!
Totally agree PAT PTI MQM PMLQ TTP just give us a break
u should be put behind bars rather let to govern this country....u came to power by rigging election n ur party is involved in killing innocent people.....
Your leadership only know how to aggravate the situation it is against your ego to diffuse or resolve the issues.
Imran Khan wants to be PM. He is just doing his game but no worries if he will come into power He will face the same. It is what he is planting right now.
