ISLAMABAD: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has asked its Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) staff to get their academic certificates verified within 30 days. Earlier this week, FDE issued a notification directing the heads of the institutes to ask all employed in pay scales 17 and above to get their documents verified from the relevant boards and universities within 30 days. “Senior teachers approaching their retirement cannot undertake this grinding procedure in such hot weather,” said a teacher at Islamabad College for Girls F-6/2. Following the confusion over who will bear the expenses, Rs800 per verification, Federal Colleges Teaching Association members met acting FDE Director General Rafique Tahir. Tahir, who is also the spokesperson for the Capital Administration and Development Division said that after meeting with association officials, they have decided to seek federal funding for the verification process.
