Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has decided to normalise relations with Pakistan Awami Tehreek for which it has constituted a delegation which is expected to visit the Minhajul Quran Secretariat today (Thursday), The Express Tribune has learnt.
A meeting was convened under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday which decided to send a delegation to Dr Tahirul Qadri’s residence.
According to sources, the Punjab cabinet delegation will be led by Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resources Raja Ashfaq Sarwar.
The delegation will offer condolences to Minhajul Quran over the loss of the lives of 11 of its workers. If things go as expected it is likely that the prime minister will contact the PAT chief himself.
Sources added that the delegation would play the role of a jirga and would not only offer an apology but also ask Dr Qadri’s son, Hussain Mohiuddin, to voice his demands.
The official handout by the Punjab government confirmed that the cabinet had decided to send a delegation to Minhajul Quran’s Secretariat.
Sources revealed that before leaving for Tajikistan PM Nawaz Sharif had constituted a committee jointly headed by Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz to uplift the party’s image.
PML-N’s Parliamentary Secretary on Information, Rana Arshad told The Express Tribune that the judicial commission would probe the matter and all facts would be disclosed to the public.

People who are used to power & luxury and mistreatment of citizens cant want to live with new transparency rules. Media & power hubs are free to run.ۥ Old time arm-twisting, threat & coercion are thing of the past. Canadian, Afghan, Indian, Kashmiri or Irani origins are not at all a basis of rejection.
@sterry: Sorry, but those barriers were advised by the Lahore police for his own protection against car bombers. Similar to the heavier barriers around other leaders, like Sharif brothers properties few yards away, and whole castle-like in Raiwand.
Tahirul Qadri is responsible for the whole affair - yes the police should have reacted more responsibly but they were provoked by brain washed protesters of his group. Why they would be protecting against the removal of illegal barriers in the middle of the night is beyond me. Imagine if Tahirul Qadri try to put illegal barriers around his house in Canada - would he fight with the police there too when they come to remove them? Sad that this man thinks he can live in a democratic Canada, swear allegiance to an English queen Elizabeth and then fly back to Pakistan to fight democratic system.
Simply put: If you can't defeat them... Join them! Wonderful!

Shahbaz Sharif repeated the events of May 12 but using the state apparatus, and then his conscienceless and shameless party members try to justify these brutal torture and murders just like Musharraf's partners did back then.

Only a subtle threat by IK to march along with PAT (as of now no such plans in the works) and they panic. Wouldve been better had they acted more maturely in the beginning and not started the whole thing in the first place. This is a self created crisis by Punjab Govt for it self as well as federal

Pakistan or any country need distribution of management divided up to grass root level. For the last six years we do not have municipal system. Pakistan need about thirty provinces and municipal system.

Lets see if Mr Qadri makes another agreement as he did with PPP
It's not an olive branch. It's a trap to fail their long march and fool them by making mountain high promises. Question is whether anyone will get punished for the police firing or the case is going to be closed with a compromise. Dr. Qadri should not compromise. Time for compromises are over. Time to get rid of status quo forces and bring them to justice for looting and plundering national wealth.
