Vision 2025: Baligh for promoting vocational training

Balighur Rehman says less than one per cent of the population has access to technical education.

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Education Training and Standards in Higher Education, Engineer Balighur Rehman emphasised on enhancing access to technical education which is, currently, less than one per cent of the population. Addressing the first meeting of the Task Force of National TVET Policy, he said that there is huge room for development in this sector. The meeting was arranged by National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) under TVET Reform Support Program co-funded by the European Union, Netherlands and Germany with the technical assistance of GIZ. To meet the vision 2025 and the criteria of the socio economic development, the minister said that the minimum standard for access to technical and vocational education should be more than 15% of the population which is currently less than a per cent.
