ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved three projects including the construction of two underpasses on Faisal Avenue linking sectors G-7 and G-8, and sectors F-7 and F-8.

The CDA Development Working Party (DWP) met on Tuesday with CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal and board members in attendance. Allocation for these projects will be made in the CDA budget for the fiscal year 2014-15.

The DWP also approved a citizen’s facilitation centre in Sector G-7 and the installation of barbed wire and warning boards around CDA land.

Work on these projects will start after the approval of the CDA budget.

The estimated cost of two underpasses on the Faisal Avenue is Rs555.515 million, with an estimated completion time of six months.

The civic authority will spend an estimated Rs71.195 million to set up a citizen’s facilitation centre on Jasmine Road in Sector G-7/2. The centre will provide services related to the CDA, Iesco, SNGPL, PTCL, Nadra and the passport office under one roof.

The architectural and structural design for the facilitation centre has been prepared by the CDA Design Wing and Structure Directorate. The completion time is six months.

The third project is “fixing barbed wire, boundary pillars, warning boards and construction of precast wall around CDA land” to save it from encroachment. The project will be completed in a year at a cost of Rs333.806 million.

The walls and fences will protect the CDA land and will help the authority develop new sectors for residential and commercial purposes.
