Community works: ‘Gyms, swimming pools and libraries for small towns’

The DCO directed engineers to ensure use of quality material in road construction.

District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noorul Amin Mengal on Wednesday said a gymnasium, a swimming pool and a library would be built in each town of Faisalabad district next year.


He said details of the project were being finalised and work on the project would begin soon. He was reviewing construction work on a road from Chak 204-RB Bridge to Bhai Wala Railway station. The DCO said the reconstruction of roads would improve traffic management. He said a number of link-road projects were on the cards. The DCO directed engineers to ensure use of quality material in road construction. The DCO also ordered a crackdown against shopkeepers selling adulterated food. Presiding over a meeting, the DCO directed assistant commissioners to evolve a strategy and take strict action against those found selling poor quality food.
