A police ‘tout’ Gullu Butt, who smashed windscreens and windows of vehicles outside the Minhajul Quran International Secretariat in the presence of the SP Model Town-led police contingent, is said to be an active member of the ruling PML-N.
Television footage shows Gullu brought to the scene on a motorcycle. He was brandishing a club and chanting slogans.
When the melee broke out, he started smashing windscreens and windows of private vehicles with his club. No police official tried to stop him and the vandalism continued unabated.
Gullu Butt, who is said to be a resident of Faisal Town, is a police tout. It is learnt that a VIP calls him Sher-e-Punjab (Lion of Punjab). Gullu supplied water and cold drinks to the police officials throughout the operation.
However, he quickly disappeared after the operation, triggering suspicion that some police officers might have advised him to slip away lest the game was spoilt. However, since he has been caught on tape vandalising vehicles, all police officers pretend they don’t know him.
CCPO Lahore Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmed has ordered the arrest of the person who vandalised vehicles – but he couldn’t be arrested till the filing of this report.

Gullu can never be punished as he is very close to prime minister Nawaz Shareef. If Gullu got arrested there will be anarchy in PMLN goons who are always there to kill anyone for money but only for the benefit of PMLN. This ghunda culture is the mainstay of PML-N’s politics. I doubt Mr. Gullu would be arrested or punished accordingly because come election day, guys like him stuff the ballots. PML-N would be certainly patronizing number of such Ghunda groups in order to vandalize, beat, kill and rob their opponents.
Assuming Gullu Butt is not a PML(N) member, will any action be ordered against all the policemen who stood by as silent spectators while he was vandalizing property of ordinary citizens of Lahore? Bravo Shahbaz Sharif, you have revolutionized the police institution. I suggest you to pay focus on the performance of Punjab institutions rather than boasting about the Metro ye, Metro woh, Metro , Metro and Metro… Your myopic policies are destroying Punjab institutions. But Sharm tum ko magar nahe aati. The uniformed goons are equal accomplices in crime for their failure to prevent it. The CM and Rana Sanaullah have a lot to answer.

The C.M. of Shahbaz Sharif told in front of the media that he will finds himself responsible will resign. He must immediately resign till the outcome of the enquiry committee. If he is not responsible then he is not C.M. of Punjab. He is simply working as sweeper of Punjab province.

I think all policeman seeing Gullu Butt smashing vehicle should also be punished for discretion of duty as they were seeing a crime committed and did not stop.
I am surprised that so many are surprised. It is the same party which started Qabza groups, banking crisis, and attacked SC while in session. The fact remains these politicians a political offspring of Gen Zia got away with each of their crime. Only one party politicians are targeted by our courts especially LHC.
