ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) welcomed the newest member of its bench on Tuesday, as Athar Minallah took the oath of office from IHC Chief Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi. IHC Chief Justice Kasi had earlier proposed three names for the post — Mian Abdul Rauf, Anees Jillani, and Athar Minallah, and judicial committee headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jilani had selected Minallah as an IHC additional judge. Minallah, 53, is from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and was a spokesman for former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry during the lawyers’ movement.

Definitely, the credibility of "Judiciary" will have a positive impact with the induction of Mr. Athar Minallah. We need many clean and outspoken judges in our courts.
