Research cooperation: IIUI, German university sign MoU

International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and a German university on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for academic collaboration and mutual cooperation, said a press release issued by the IIUI.


The MoU was signed by the IIUI’s Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences (CIRBC) and the Institute of Crop Science and Resource Conservation, Department of Biotechnology University of Bonn. The ceremony was attended by faculty members of IIUI including Director Germen Academic Exchange Service DAAD Ursula Saarbeck and IIUI Rector Dr Masoom Yasinzai.

DAAD will also provide assistance in exchange services, said Ursula.

She was given a detailed briefing about the university and the centre which was being launched under the IIUI Rector leadership.

She was informed that the centre will work for launching joint degree programmes with international universities. Research collaboration to learn from the experiences of known researchers would also be initiated.

The university rector suggested that faculty members from Germany should also join the university and attend sessions which would help raise education standards at the university.
