ISLAMABAD: Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir on Tuesday said that the country’s exports have registered a 30% increase after the grant of GSP Plus status. Speaking on a Point of Order in the National Assembly, he said the increase has been registered in comparison with the corresponding period of the previous year. The results of government’s policy have started to trickle down. He said that the agriculture sector has been given its due importance in the country’s exports. A decisive operation has already been started in North Waziristan Agency aiming to rid the country of terrorism which should help businesses in the country. “Pakistan is facing two main hurdles towards progress, energy and extremism,” he said. “The government is trying to address the issues and within a span of a year, several energy generating projects have started production,” he added.
