LAHORE: The complaint cell of Lahore High Court (LHC) has taken took notice of a news report about the alleged rape of an eight-year-old girl in Bahawalpur. The cell directed the Bahawalpur district and sessions judge to submit a report within a week about steps taken by police against the suspect along with his own comments. The girl, a resident of Basti Raidan, was allegedly assaulted by a relative. She was taken to Bahawal Victoria Hospital in Bahawalpur in a critical condition. Police later arrested the suspect and registered a case against him.
